Fourteenth Rule. The evil spirit will attack you in yourweaknesses. Know your weak points and strengthenthem quickly with the Lord. Again, apply the sixth rule.

Thirteenth Rule. The evil spirit conducts himself as afalse lover in wishing to remain secret and not berevealed. Reveal secret evil thoughts, temptations, andproblems to a good confessor or to another holyconfidant—those who know how the enemy works.

Twelfth Rule. The evil spirit is a bully. You mustconfront him head on and be firm and oppose him. Ifyou do not, he will take advantage of your weaknessesand weaken you further

Tenth Rule. When in consolation, strengthen yourselfand think about how you will act when desolation comesagain.Eleventh Rule. When in consolation, be humble andthank God for this grace. When in desolation, takestrength in God and know that, again, He has given yousufficient grace to resist the enemy.

Seventh Rule. When in desolation, know that the Lordis really with you and has given you enough grace toresist agitations and temptations from the enemy. This isa test for you. Trust that the Lord is near and has givenyou enough grace for eternal salvation. Keep calling outto Him.Eighth Rule. When in desolation, be patient and knowthat the Lord will soon console you. Again, keepworking against the desolation as in the sixth rule.

Fifth Rule. When in desolation, do not change yourgoals or your prayer life. [If you say the Rosary everyday, keep saying iteveryday no matter how you feel.]Sixth Rule. When in desolation, be active and workagainst it by doing more prayer, meditation, examination(of root causes), and penance.
